Purpose
Serenity Rose is a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 to help formerly incarcerated women return to their communities successfully, Serenity Rose provides a temporary safe house for women returning home from prison. There are various programs and resources available such as education options, job readiness, and personal development training.
The home is a 2,500 sq. ft. facility with three bedrooms, two full baths, a full kitchen, laundry room, multipurpose room, and dining room. The home can house six women comfortably. The home is conveniently located in the center of West Montgomery, near the city bus line, several churches, stores, and restaurants. The women will have the personal support they need and gain some independence.
Mission
Our mission is to provide a healing, supportive and safe environment for formerly incarcerated women while reuniting with their families and communities. We want to change the narrative about women and incarceration.
Vision
Our vision is to build a greater understanding through our role as a community leader who advocates increasing social justice and healing for formerly incarcerated women. We can create a welcoming community for women returning home from prison and offer them a new start.
